It’s an important day because Rea has her 1st birthday doctor’s visit and Vi is going back to work from maternity leave. It’s going to take all of my life and professional skills to make this work.
Rea had her 1st birthday party last Saturday which turned out great for us first-time parents. We had the party at Assiniboine Park which has a great Nature’s Playground area for kids and an adjacent group picnic area. Our only concern was the weather and we didn’t have a plan B if we were to be rained out. The group picnic area is a first-come, first-serve public area so I had to be there at 7:30AM because of its popularity. I didn’t leave there until after 7:30PM.
We all got home, got cleaned up, and I managed to go see DJ Funk D’Void at the Exchange District Cube. Despite it being high energy music, I could not dance from being too tired. I was surprised I even managed to get out for a couple of hours.
It was a great weekend but it’s 6AM Monday morning now. Vi is stepping out to go to work and I’m waiting for Rea to wake up. And I’m wondering how being a stay-at-home dad is going to work out.
